Variant comparisons

What differs between the variants in a family, compiled from your material instead of from six open drawings.

How you work it in Colleag

  1. 1

Ask: what differs between the variants in the family?

  2. 2

The colleague reads drawings, BOMs and specs for every variant.

  3. 3

Review the comparison: dimensions, materials and articles side by side.

  4. 4

Save as a document or use it directly in the customer answer.

A worked example

“What separates the six variants in the 4400 family?”

A table per variant: deviating dimensions, materials, included articles and which documents are variant-specific. Differences that exist only in the drawing and not in the spec are flagged.

The material

  • The variants' drawings and specs
  • The BOMs per variant
  • Article data from the business system

You approve

Everything the colleague produces is a proposal with sources. Nothing is published, sent or saved to the archive without a human approving it, and every figure traces to its material.
