Second sources from the AVL
Registered alternatives per component from the business system, with the differences listed, before the shortage is acute.
How you work it in Colleag
- 1
Ask: which second sources do we have for this component?
- 2
The colleague reads the supplier links in the business system and the component requirements in the spec.
- 3
Review the alternatives and the differences between them.
- 4
If no approved alternative exists: ask the colleague for comparison material for qualification.
A worked example
“Is there a second source for the voltage regulator on the main board?”
The registered alternatives from your supplier register with manufacturer, part number and what separates them. If no alternative exists it says so plainly, together with what a qualification would require.

The material
- The supplier links in the business system
- The component requirements in your spec
- Purchase history for the component
You approve
Everything the colleague produces is a proposal with sources. Nothing is published, sent or saved to the archive without a human approving it, and every figure traces to its material.
Curious what it feels like?
We run pilot programs with a few manufacturing companies at a time. Tell us about your business and we will show what the colleagues can do with your documents and your data.
